About twonvert

twonvert is a tiny, free tool with one job: get your tweet under X’s 280-character limit without you having to count by hand or butcher your message.

Why it exists

Most character counters just tell you that you are 14 characters over and leave the rest to you. twonvert goes one step further and suggests a shortened version using abbreviations people already read every day, so you keep your point and lose the overflow.

Privacy by design

There is no backend. The entire tool is a single page of HTML, CSS and JavaScript that runs on your device. Your tweets are yours; they never touch a server, which also means the tool keeps working with no internet connection.

Who makes it

twonvert is an independent side project maintained by one developer who got tired of trimming threads one word at a time. Feedback is welcome at hello@twonvert.com.
